Responsibilities

  • Structural design of steel, masonry and concrete structures for heavy industrial applications, including crushers, screens, conveyors, etc. related to the bulk material handling industry.
  • An ability to calculate structural member sizing, seismic load analysis, connection design, frame analysis, etc..
  • Prepare engineering cost estimates and construction cost estimates
  • Estimate construction and engineering costs
  • Issue material and contractor requisitions
  • Solicit and negotiate vendor bids
  • Provide project field management and construction engineering services, including supervising outside engineering firms
  • Track and present project status and cost updates.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree and 10+ years structural experience - preferably in mining and/or mineral processing.
  • Superior computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project, ...); Competent use of structural engineering specific software.
  • Must be able to apply advanced mathematical concepts to reach solutions to engineering problems.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Strong verbal/oral skills.
