Summary
Producer of industrial sand products seeks experienced Operations Manager to oversee the safety of their salaried and non-union workforce, as well as manage all production efforts for their mining, processing and loadout operations. Responsibilities Include:
- Plan and schedule production requirements to support daily, weekly and monthly sales forecast to meet customer’s needs.
- Responsible for the safety of hourly (non-union) and salaried workforce, customers and other personnel and visitors to the operations. Implementation and oversight of plant safety programs.
- Interface with MSHA and other State and Federal inspectors.
- Perform continuous analysis of plant process flow to determine methods to optimize production (continuous improvement).
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and resolve production and employee related problems.
- Insure employees receive proper training and instructions to perform assigned job duties.
- Manage plant production operations to ensure cost efficiency and optimal utilization of plant and equipment.
- Oversight of plant CAPEX projects, quality control and environmental initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years operations management experience in a mining environment.
- Bachelors degree in mining. mechanical, oor civil engineering, minerals processing or similar.
- Training in Six Sigma and other Lean manufacturing methods a plus.
- A strong focus and priority towards safety.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, conflict and problem resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to plan and manage effectively using motivation and team building skills.
